Conspiracy Theories

In our film we have decided to involve conspiracy theories, so I decided to look into this to gain ideas that we could possible input into our film. Conspiracy theories can literally be about anything that people want to question which we found very intriguing, I looked at some well known conspiracy theories to get some ideas of which we could maybe include in our film.

One conspiracy theory that I find quite fascinating is the one about the NASA and the moon landing. There are actually a few conspiracy theories about this, one being that they faked it and the other being that they actually had contact with aliens to help invent the technology possible for the moon landing to even take place. It's been decades since the moon landing, which happened in 1969, many people believe that the USA was so desperate to beat Russia in the race to the moon that they actually faked the whole thing. They believe that it was filmed on a set in Area 51 (where many more conspiracy theories are), but due to the fact that all the photos and videos for the moon landing are all from NASA, there is no proof that it is actually faked but this has led many others to believe that they may be hiding something. However, some say how the flag moved on the moon (in space which is a vacuum) looked as if it was being blown by wind, but in space there is no wind because it is a vacuum which is why people question the moon landing to be true. Not everyone believes this theory though, some people have actually said that they believe NASA had help from aliens. This is because they very quickly invented and made the technology necessary to ensure the moon landing to be successful. This leads many people to question how they did it because it would be extremely hard, maybe even impossible to create the technology necessary to even create a working space crafts after many failed attempts of being no where near success before.

Another conspiracy theory is about the government having something to do with the 9/11 attacks. There is a legitimate explanation for everything that happened that day and how it happened but there is one critical piece of information that is needed to confirm this but the government won't allow tests to be made. The twin towers were extremely strong steel structures that scientifically shouldn't of collapsed from the holes caused by the planes which has lead many people to wondering why they did collapse. The report for the cause of it is also very flawed with many gaps and then reports of explosions in both towers before the collapses made a lot of people think that there were explosives in the towers. Although there is an explanation for why all the floors collapsed after one collapsed, there is no evidence which explains what the explosions were. There is a theory that it was the aluminium (which has a very low boiling point) from the planes and the far which caused the aluminium to become a liquid (molten aluminium), the sprinkles inside the towers were activated which oxygen, aluminium and water causes an explosion which caused a floor to collapse which then the weight of them floors caused the rest of the towers to collapse. This is what many scientists believe to have happened, but the american government wont let the rubble of the towers to be tested for this (even though they still have it). This has led many people to believe that they have something to hide, and due to the huge flaws in the report which has contradicted themselves on many occasions has also brought more people to question the events of that day. A lot of people think that the US government had something to do with it, some believe that Bush knew that the attacks were about to happen but didn't do anything about it and others believe that he planned the whole thing and had it take place, because of their being no evidence about the molten aluminium, many believe that Bush had explosives planted in the buildings because unless there was some sort of explosion to breach the steal structure, there should have been no collapse but there was many witnesses saying they heard explosions.

Another conspiracy theory that a lot of speculation has been made about is that some people don't believe that Elvis is dead. The thing that sparked this conspiracy theory is that on his gravestone, his middle name "Aron" is spelt "Aaron", this has led a lot of people to be wondering why his family haven't changed it or why it was even wrong in the first place. A lot of sightings of Elvis have also been reported although this could just be look-a-likes. Nevertheless, people either believe that Elvis wanted to get away from the public or he is under a witness protection programme by the FBI.
