Tricky shots and edits

One tricky edit we had was to create a news broadcast and make it look realistic. To do this we had to get news report music and, go out and film footage of empty streets which we then put onto our film as a small video to make it more like a news report.

We then wanted to make it cut out and be an unstable connection to illustrate the chaos and panic in our film. We did this by getting static sounds and footage and inserting it into our film. We then cut bits out of the news report too and replaced it with the footage and static sounds, this helped give the impression that there was an unstable connection. We also made sure to sometimes cut the news broadcast out in the middle of sentences as well as in between, this was because it would seem quite odd if every time it cut out was straight after a sentence and never in the middle of one.

A tricky shot we had was to do a focus pull. Due to not having really high quality cameras that big film companies use, we had to do the focus pull manually on the camera. However while pressing the button on the camera to do it, the camera kept on moving which made the camera shake slightly. This took us multiple attempts until we got it right.

Another hard edit we had to do was trying to make the phone call at the start sound realistic. While filming this we made sure to actually film Tilt having the phone call, this was to make sure she wasn't talking quicker and that the scene was the right legnth. We then got an audio from the mother which we then put onto the film and tried to make it sound as if she was talking from off the phone. However the found this difficult so it isn't as perfect as we would of liked.
